Place Services helps to win Clavering Planning Inquiry

16 Dec 2015

Christmas has come early for residents of the historic village of Clavering, as they celebrate the news that an appeal against a refusal to grant planning permission for 42 new houses has been dismissed. Place Services landscape and heritage specialists acted as expert witnesses on behalf of Uttlesford District Council at the inquiry earlier this year, and the planning inspector accepted our arguements that the proposed development would cause harm to the character of the surrounding countryside, and designated and non-designated heritage assets, including a scheduled monument, Clavering Castle, Clavering Conservation Area, listed buildings and two historic lanes.
