Maria elected as a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London

Maria Medlycott has been elected as a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.

The Society was founded in 1707 with its mission 'the encouragement, advancement and furtherance of the study and knowledge of antiquities and history of this and other countries'.  Fellows of the Society include many distinguished archaeologists, and art and architectural historians holding positions of responsibility across the cultural heritage.

Maria is highly experienced archaeologist with a particular specialism in landscape history. She has published many articles and books on the archaeology of Essex.  Maria becomes the third member of the Place Services Historic Environment team to have received this accolade.
