Place Services helps win Thaxted Planning Inquiry

01 Jun 2015

Residents in the historic market town of Thaxted are celebrating the news that an appeal against a refusal to grant planning permission for 120 new houses has been dismissed. Place Services landscape and heritage specialists acted as expert witnesses on behalf of Uttlesford District Council at the inquiry earlier this year, and the planning inspector accepted our arguements that the proposed development would cause harm to the character of the surrounding countryside, and local heritage assets, including the Grade 1 Listed Church of St John the Baptist.
