Martin Ivatt

Martin is a Senior Urban Designer and Recognised Practitioner with over 10 years’ experience working within urban design and landscape. Working primarily within private practice before joining Place Services, Martin’s background within transportation and development teams allows him to bring knowledge and experience from both a planning and movement perspective to design projects.

Martin has provided comprehensive design advice on numerous public realm design projects at a range of sites including major vehicle corridors, town centres, and local authority estates, with many involving extensive engagement with Officers and Council members. He is also highly experienced in public realm audits, undertaking large scale public and business consultation exercises, and providing design advice to Local Authority Clients.

Martin’s current role includes:

  • Producing  design and access statements, design codes and guidance
  • Commenting and providing design advice on planning applications
  • Undertaking a range of public realm and streetscape design services
  • Producing concept and outline soft and hard landscape design
  • Providing regeneration site advice and assisting with site disposal
