Robert joined Place Services as a Built Heritage Consultant in 2025, bringing a passion for architectural history and experience from the private sector. He provides specialist heritage advice to local planning authorities in Essex, primarily covering Tendring District Council, and assists with general project work.

His interest in architectural history led him to work for a heritage roofing company while pursuing a master’s degree in the Conservation of Historic Buildings at the University of York  in 2022, following which he joined the private sector as a heritage consultant.

Since then Robert has worked on a broad range of high-profile heritage and planning projects, ranging from the British Museum and the Knole Estate in Kent to NSIPs and major housing developments, as well as numerous listed buildings, registered parks and gardens and conservation areas across London and the Home Counties.

Robert is an affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) and aims to gain full membership.
