Traditional Building Skills, Conservation Courses and Lectures

Coronavirus Update: Postponement of Courses

In response to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to temporarily suspend our scheduled Spring and Summer courses in 2020. The safety of our delegates, tutors, staff and the wider public are our chief concern at this time, and we are continuing to review government advice in relation to our course programme. We will reschedule as many events as possible for later in the year. Please join our waiting list for individual courses to be notified when their new date in confirmed.

Our team are currently working towards providing online training, and if you would like to be updated on these developments to our courses please get in touch to join our mailing list at traditional.buildingskills@essex.gov.uk. Our first session is on Heritage Statements, focussing on how to undertake heritage statements and providing guidance on how to research from home during the pandemic.

Our Traditional Building Skills and Conservation Courses Programme has been designed to enable conservation and building professionals, contractors, general builders, and the owners and managers of historic buildings and sites, the opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills in the conservation management and repair of historic buildings and the wider historic environment. All our courses and lectures are delivered by leading craftsmen and experts in their specialist fields.
