Adrian Gascoyne elected as Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries

Adrian Gascoyne has been elected as a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.

The Society is an ancient learned society founded in 1717 whose Royal Charter dates back to 1751. Its elected members are charged with 'the encouragement, advancement and furtherance of the of the study and knowledge of antiquities and history of this and other countries'.  Fellows of the Society include many distinguished archaeologists, and art and architectural historians holding positions of responsibility in regard to heritage resources worldwide. This election recognises Adrian's particular expertise in the management of the historic and natural environment, and his publications on the archaeology of Colchester and the landscape of Essex.
