Place Services was delighted to a finalist at the Planning Awards 2020 in the Award for Design Excellence category. The coveted awards were held digitally for the first time.
Place Services was nominated for its Estate Management Scheme Design Guide for Welwyn Garden City. Given the drive for Garden Communities throughout the United Kingdom it is recognised that the Estate Management Design Guide is an important tool in both maintaining and enhancing one of the world’s first Garden Cities. The Garden City is both under pressure to maintain and enhance the core Garden Principles while handling modern day pressures from parking through to modern methods of construction.
As a result of the Design Guide it is anticipated that the Garden City will be able to respond and react to current modern pressures where principles can be maintained and enhanced. The online platform has allowed the Estate Management Scheme Design Guide to be accessible throughout the borough and wider allowing residents, officers and professionals quick and direct guidance.
