The Forestry Commission has awarded Place Services a place on their regional framework for the supply of woodland and tree surveys (including potentially urban trees) to detect, assess and sample for the presence and extent of specific tree pests and diseases across the east and southeast of England.
The aim of this project is to provide information and data of the extent and severity of a disease or pest, to enable the development of appropriate management strategies, improve the Forestry Commission’s knowledge of tree pest and disease progression and evaluate the results of any control methods already implemented.
The Place Services Arboricultural Team will deliver the service with support from ecology and GIS colleagues and will be key in improving understanding of pest and disease progression through the eastern region, including:
The framework agreement is for a period of 3 years starting from 5th May, 2014.
