Our historic environment team has recently celebrated the promotion of two of its members, Seren Wilson and Thomas Muston. Seren and Thomas joined the team together as Assistant Built Heritage Consultants in January 2020, and have progressed to Built Heritage Consultants in June 2022.

Seren is responsible for providing historic buildings advice to Districts in Essex and Hertfordshire, covering Harlow, Hertsmere and Three Rivers. She has also undertaken a range of project work across Essex, Hertfordshire and Crawley, assessing designated and non-designated heritage assets, through the production of Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plans and Local List reviews. She has a particualr interest in the use of historic building conservation in urban regeneration and town development, and how we can manage our heritage through the built environment.

Thomas provides historic buildings advice and support to Uttlesford District and Rochford. He has also completed a number of key projects within the team, including Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plans for Tendring and Basildon, impact assessments and the Historic England High Street Heritage Action Zone project to review the listed buildings within Lowestoft. Thomas also has a personal interest in the protection and sustainable development of historic assets through large infrastructure projects, as he is particularly interested in industrial heritage.

Head of Place Services, Adrian Gascoyne, said: "We are delighted that Seren and Thomas continue to develop their careers with us here at Place Services. They are a pleasure to work with, and a great asset for our team and our clients".

Congratulations Seren and Thomas!
