Assessment of coastal conservation areas at Risk

15 Oct 2015

Place Services is to assess a number of coastal conservation areas in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk that have been identified as being at Risk. Historic England has commissioned the work in order that strategies can be devised, which will help to address the causes of their vulnerability. Our historic environment consultants will visit each of the conservation areas to identify the issues facing them, and make recommendations on different approaches to tackling the problems. The four conservation areas included in the project are: Cromer, Felixstowe (South), Clacton Seafront and Dovercourt. The commission follows an earlier project through which we characterised the historic envirnonment of seaside resorts in Essex: /projects/seaside-heritage/
