Purford Green Oak View

We worked with Essex Housing Development LLP and Stanley Bragg Architects on Purford Green Oak View. The scheme provides 35 brand-new, high-quality houses on the former Purford Green Junior School block, which was left vacant when the infant and junior schools merged.

The landscape scheme has been created to complement the architecture and character of the proposed development. The scheme had to work around existing site constraints due to its proximity to the school and existing properties, and to avoid unnecessary removal of the existing established vegetation. Linking with the Health and Wellbeing agenda, the proposed landscape scheme will deliver an attractive environment with tree planting and multi-functional green open spaces to cater for a range of uses by people of all ages and abilities. The scheme also features a ‘woodland walkway’, embracing the natural environment and trees within the site.

The development won the Constructing Excellence Essex Club Awards 2025 - 'Residential Project of the Year’, and was shortlisted in the 'Medium Housing Schemes' and 'Excellence in Design & Placemaking’ categories at the Essex Housing Awards 2025.
