Natural England commissioned Place Services to convert Greater London Sites and Monuments Records into the SHINE (Selected Heritage Inventory for Natural England) format needed for use in its Higher Level Stewardship scheme.
Place Services is also helping Natural England to trial the new on-line 'SHINE-HLS', which aims to enhance the process by which applicants to Natural England's Environmental Stewardship scheme receive Historic Environment Record data. The data shows applicants where selected historic environment features can be found on their farms to encourage adoption of management options that will benefit their conservation.
