Janneke joined Place Services in 2024 as Assistant Landscape Consultant. After completing the Landscape Architecture conversion year at Writtle University College, she finished her MA in Professional Landscape Architecture at the University of East London in 2025. Her thesis focused on the importance of play and the retrofitting children’s play spaces into older neighbourhoods.
Retraining as a Landscape Architect has enabled her to achieve the aim of playing a proactive role in contributing to a greener, more sustainable and inclusive world. Her previous career as a senior graphic designer in marketing ensured strong skills in design software and strengthened a passion for clear and well-balanced designs that are also aesthetically exciting and bold, all of which can be translated to landscape architecture.
With a specific interest in greening the urban environment and meeting the needs of women and children in public spaces, she continually seeks to make positive impacts on social and environmental levels in her role at Place Services, where she is involved with providing landscape comments on planning applications, as well as projects including Landscape Character Assessments and public realm design.
