Tendring Landscape Character Assessment (LCA)

Our Landscape team was commissioned in 2024 to carry out a review of the Tendring Landscape Character Assessment 2001. The LCA will inform the mandatory five-year review of the Council’s Local Plan and update the existing LCA Volume 1 & Volume 2 prepared in 2001. 

The new document will be a standalone piece of evidence. This is being done through a mix of desktop review and field survey, identifying any significant developments that could affect boundary changes, the changed policy context, and generating revised character area mapping as GIS datasets. The updated character area profiles are supplemented by refreshed landscape development guidelines.
