Public Art Strategy & Guidance

Public Art encompasses a broad range of approaches from contemporary, free-standing sculpture through to works integrated within the fabric of a building or square. Works may be temporary or permanent, in the natural or built environment, created by an artist, designer, craft-maker or in collaboration with a fabricator.

Our clients range from Developers, involved in the delivery of a S106 Agreement, to Parish Councils and communities and the delivery of Community Infrastructure Levis. Projects start with identifying the needs and aspirations of a location or group, articulating and evolving the vision within a strategy or programme.

The development of Public Art Strategies can be artist-led such as Harlow Town Centre’s Public Art Strategy, or developed internally by Place Services.
