Beth Archer

Beth is a BSc (Hons) Marine Biology graduate from the University of Exeter with experience in ecological research, conservation, and environmental education. She joined Place Services as an Assistant Ecological Consultant in April 2025.

Beth has a background in marine and terrestrial ecology, having previously worked at the National Oceanography Centre, Plymouth Marine Laboratory, and the Field Studies Council. Her experience includes scientific research, public engagement, and technical support for environmental education.

Beth’s role at Place Services involves supporting the team of ecologists in delivering high-quality ecological advice to Local Planning Authorities across Essex County Council and its district and borough councils. This includes assisting with field surveys and reviewing planning applications to ensure that biodiversity and ecological considerations are properly integrated into development proposals.
