Katie Lee-Smith


Katie has undertaken a wide range of commercial excavations across the south and east of England, leading a number in East Anglia. Prior to this she did her Archaeology Bachelors at Durham University specialising in Medieval architecture and Pictish standing stones. In the last three years, Katie has followed a Masters course in Museum Studies at Leiden University where she also worked as a research assistant. This course involved interning at the British Museum and the MAA Cambridge. Her passion to help preserve cultural and archaeological heritage has led her to undertake work with the Caribbean NEXUS project and various assignments in the Netherlands and Greece.

Katie joined Place Services in January 2018 as Junior Historic Environment Consultant.
